DIAL 9-1-1:
- Tell the dispatcher (operator) what the emergency is. Is police, fire or ambulance needed?
- Wait for further instructions from the dispatcher.
- DO NOT hang up until the dispatcher tells you to, UNLESS you need to do so to keep yourself safe.
WHAT IS AN EMERGENCY?

- Any type of fire (business, car, building, dumpster, bark dust).
- Any life-threatening situations (fights, people with weapons, etc.)
- Any crime in progress, or crime that JUST occurred and suspect was observed.
- When in doubt, CALL 9-1-1. The dispatcher will assist you, possibly by redirecting your call.
WHAT INFORMATION WILL THE DISPATCHER NEED?
- The location and/or address where assistance is needed. Be specific - exactly where
inside the library? PBX does not transmit location data. Upstairs, Children’s area, restroom, east side, west side, etc.
- Your name and phone number.
